On 25th and 26th November, the Lesser Spotted Theatre Company performed its first play.
Here's a flavour of the feedback we received on our Facebook page.
"A thoroughly enjoyable piece which achieved an excellent balance of comedy, drama and thought-provoking subtlety without ramming a 'message' down the audience's throat. Should have been six stars but there isn't that option!"
Max Brandt, author of 'Blind Cupid' and 'Dominion'
"Not only was the acting spot-on, but the writing was superb. It alternately had us in stitches and fuming; there were times I had to stop myself from shouting out and intervening! Great to see such high quality work on our doorsteps here in the South Hams."
David French, South Hams News Network
"The funny and very clever script still has me thinking about the play almost 24 hours later. The performances were all superb with lovely interplay between [the actors], lots of subtleties and some great physical humour. I absolutely loved it. Congratulations everyone and bring on the tour!"
Jill Brock, Director of 'The Merry Wives of Windsor', Dartmouth Shakespeare Week 2015
"Me Time is an extremely funny but poignant observation of the complex relationship between two daughters and their narcissistic mother. Every minute was expertly crafted and not a word was wasted, which allowed the actors to show off their considerable skills. Brilliantly observed and acted, I would love to see this again."
"Just loved the whole thing. Do hope you can tour with this... brilliantly acted from start to finish. Thanks The Lesser Spotted Theatre Company."
"If you haven't seen 'Me Time' yet you're missing out, it is Hilarious. A comedy acting and writing masterclass. Some brilliant one liners. Still giggling at the work outs now!"
"I saw "Me Time" at Dartington this weekend and absolutely loved it! In the great tradition of British Comedy it made me laugh out loud, wince and think deep thoughts all at the same time. I am not sure I really understood what narcissism was before watching it but I certainly came away feeling like I had learned something, Great play, extremely well written, beautifully acted - huge congrats everyone."
"Went to see Me Time last night and I have to say a huge congratulations to Ross and all of the cast the Director and all involved , this play is a MUST watch true to everyday life , serious moments and moments where I haven't laughed so much in a long time. ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH INDEED."
